Concordia Southeast Asian Teacher Program

The Concordia Southeast Asian Teacher Program is now accepting applications!

Concordia’s Southeast Asian Teacher (SEAT) Licensure Program is for individuals who are currently employed in Minnesota school districts as educational assistants and teaching assistants who are seeking elementary education teacher license. Started in 1998 with a focus on training under-represented populations, today the program continues its mission of preparing all people of color, especially those of Southeast Asian background, for elementary teaching licensure. Key highlights of program:

  • Program is offered at both the undergraduate and post-baccalaureate levels
  • Enrolled students receive half off tuition, voucher to purchase textbooks, and the use of a laptop
  • Coursework is offered in the later afternoon and evening in a modified cohort model

To apply:

Complete application online or by mail to Concordia University-St Paul. A completed application includes:

  • Application
  • Two letters of recommendation; one from the principal of the school where you currently work and one from a current teacher or mentor supervisor.
  • Transcripts
