Minneapolis Residency Program 2016-17 Cohort

Thank you for your interest in the Minneapolis Residency Program, Elementary Education licensure.  Unfortunately, we will not be enrolling a new cohort for the 2018-19 school year as we focus on supporting our current graduates and discovering the best ways to support our employees in becoming teachers. We will be keeping all applications materials that have been submitted on file for the future.

If you have interest in learning about other opportunities, please complete the Grow Your Own Pathway Form. You will be contacted by Talent Acquisition to talk about the best match for your teaching aspirations.

Growing Our Own teachers continues to be a priority for MPS and we offer the following options for you as alternatives:

  • The Minneapolis Special Education Residency program will be continuing to recruit for the 2018-2019 school year.  The deadline for applications is January 26, 2018.  If you are interested in learning more about the Special Education residency, there will be an information session on Thursday, January 11th from 5-6pm at the Davis center.  You can also find information on the website:

Minneapolis Residency Program - A pathway to becoming an Elementary school teacher in Minneapolis Public Schools! 

Minneapolis Public Schools, the University of Minnesota and MFT partnered to develop the Minneapolis Residency Program: A Minneapolis Public Schools-University of Minnesota Partnership. This is a program for current Unlicensed MPS employees who work closely with students in schools and are interested in obtaining their Elementary Education license.
